I have been careless in some of my decision-making. Careless is being generous. My decision-making was naïve and arrogant. When I was learning how to start investing money , I bought SiriusXM stock on news of the two companies merging (previously, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio) and believed the touted benefits resulting from the deal would easily make the investment a no-brainer.
Career-wise, 2018 was the worst year my husband and I have survived. In the spring, we thought he landed the perfect job, only for him to show up and be told the contract was pulled. We have a great savings account, but the anxiety surrounding job loss is soul crushing.
